Facebook Freebie Crackdown, Performance Marketing Changes

  • The accounts vary, but unlike years past where regardless of the prognosticator, the predictions looked dire, today when it comes to how much will Facebook make, the only question is how high to guess. Estimates put the companies 2008 revenues between $300mm and $350mm with 2009 coming in somewhere between $650mm and $750mm. Compare those to 2007, when it was believed the company did between $100mm to $150mm range.
  • For as much as the industry has changed over the past decade, some things have not changed all that much. We still use the pixel in order to track conversions. Email marketing still plays a large role in the overall revenue picture, and publishers still rely on the networks for their offers.
